Counseling for your family’s unfolding story.
Watching your child struggle is one of the hardest parts of parenting. Our therapists meet kids and teens where they actually are, not where we wish they were, and give them the tools to move through it, in a way that works for them. Counseling can bring clarity, connection, and calm to your whole family.
We help you understand what’s driving your child’s behavior, not just react to it, and help your child put feelings into words instead of acting them out. Whether you’re seeing tantrums, difficulty transitioning, trouble accepting no, sneaky behavior, separation anxiety, or a more sullen mood, you don’t have to have it figured out to start. We offer therapy for children and teens, in person and online, across North Carolina.

How we show up for you.
First, we understand your family’s story. We start by meeting with parents or guardians alone to hear your child’s unique history, or, for children 12 and up, your child may join too. Then we get to work, using the approach that fits your child best.
Parenting is part of the process. You’ll be asked into sessions from time to time as your child’s story unfolds.
If your child is in foster care, the first session is with the foster parent alone. If parents are separated or divorced, we require consent from both and want both equally involved. Every family’s story is held in a warm, safe space, whatever shape that family takes.
Ways we help your family find the words:

When your own story needs attention too.
Parenting is hard. Whether your child is moving through a hard season or you’re simply feeling the everyday weight of parenting, supporting them takes something out of you. It’s easy to pour everything into your child’s story and forget you’re allowed to be part of it too. You don’t have to carry this alone, or wait until you’re running on empty to ask for help.
If you’re noticing your own anxiety, exhaustion, or grief showing up alongside your child’s, individual counseling can help you find steadier footing, so you have more to give, and something left over for yourself.
And if the strain is showing up between you and a partner, couples counseling can help you get back on the same team.
